Wildcats Gold finish strong at 2016 East Coast Summer Nationals

Wildcats Gold tied for 5th out of 75 of some of the best fastpitch softball teams up and down the East Coast! Wildcats were the only New Jersey team to place in the top 10 and we’re pretty sure we were the only Jersey team left on the last day of play, Sunday. On Saturday we only lost to the Gold Coast Hurricanes – Fisher 3-2, and they went 8-0 and finished 1st.

Quick stats:

  • 3 shut outs
  • Scored 33 run in 9 games
  • Gave up 18 runs
  • Pitched and played awesome defense all week against some very talented teams.

1 Gold Coast Hurricanes – Fisher Midway, GA 8-0
2 Carolina Comets Gold – Hall , NC 7-1
3 Lady Lightning Prospects (Pedy) Galivants Ferry, SC 6-2
3 Pride Elite 18U , WV 5-2
5 Ohio Classics 18u , OH 8-2
5 Lady Lightning select (Roby) Tar Heel, NC 7-2
5 Wildcats Gold Turnersville, NJ 7-2

Played on Sunday in an unusual – even for Myrtle Beach in July – 131 degrees! on the turf (measured by tournament officials on Sunday 7/31)… Coach Frazer said the rubber on his sneakers was actually starting to get soft. It was hot and humid, but the Wildcats Gold ladies stayed strong and persevered through very tough conditions and competition. Nice job ladies!
